I’ve been fortunate to see quite a bit of Washington this summer for work and like to take my camera with me. So here are a few nice scenery shots that haven’t been edited yet.

Kinja'd!!!

The only non work related picture in this post. Just the wagon going camping.

Washington’s such a gorgeous state. I really want to move there someday.

No, I believe that one was right off of Blakely Island. Deception Pass looks pretty nice.

I’ve been here a little over a year and have barely scratched the surface. By far my favorite place to live so far.

Thanks, currently replacing most of the front suspension so maybe I can rallycross too someday.

Wagon’s yours? Love it! I have a 96 Roadie Estate that will be killing cones at Good Guys in a couple months. It is also a camping machine. And also in need of suspension work, though I just installed a rear sway bar from a Ford Panther and wow what a difference.

I lived in Washington for a summer and loved it. I’m convinced that Tacoma is the most underrated city in the Lower 48. Great architecture (especially around the Proctor area), plenty of natural outdoor beauty, and 1/4 the price of Seattle.

Agreed, I actually live in Tacoma right now. I was a little nervous moving here as it has such a bad reputation, but it has been excellent. There are so many great little bars, restaurants, and stores downtown. Just about the perfect size for a small city. And you are only 45 minutes from Seattle if you want something there. And as you said, SOOOOO much more affordable.

Mine needs some structural work on the bottom as well the suspension as it spent almost 20 years in Minnesota. But for everything that is currently wrong with it, Its the best car I’ve ever had. Thats a good idea on the swaybar and sounds like a pretty cheap option.

Totally! We also had a pretty awesome garden there; vegetables pretty much grew wild with all the rain and nutrients in the soil.

The summer we were there, wife and I rented a 2400 SF house for $1700/mo. That was cheaper than our 600 SF apartment in the Bay Area where we lived before that. We didn’t really need 2400 SF, but it was fun to have 2 living rooms, 2 offices, a bedroom, a giant kitchen and a yoga room.

I really wanted to do a garden this year but couldn’t take care of it with my work schedule, maybe next year. My roommate and I share an 1800 SF house for 1100 with a garage. So lots of extra room for junk.. Looking at buying a house in Tacoma next year I like it that much.

Sounds like you’ve got an awesome setup!!

Given the climate, there are plenty of things that should grow in fall/winter, too. :)

Congrats on the possible home purchase. There are some amazing properties around there. And, once the rest of the world wakes up and realizes how nice Tacoma is, you’ll make some money on it!

It’s ~$50 all inclusive for the bar, Energy Suspension mounts/end links, and 3" exhaust clamps. Some info here . I couldn’t find the 21mm bar, but the 18mm guy makes a huge difference.

And mine’s an Arizona car, so the only bit of rust I’ve found is the driver’s side rear wheel well. I’ve fixed a lot and it still needs a ton of work, but nothing major, and it’s a great driver. My girlfriend hates it, and her friends call her “mom jeans” after an SNL skit, but it’s a road tripping and camping machine; plus she drives a Civic so her opinion is invalid.

Thats not bad at all. Will most likely get that when I get around to fixing it.

Your job appears to be considerably more scenic than mine.
